Armelle PindonArmelle Pindon was born in Paris in 1968, she is now living in Tuscany, Italy. Her  career path,  both academic and professional could be considered unusual but has always been fed by the desire to understand the complexity of human motivations.
She has a Ph.D. in neuroscience (1998, University Paris – Orsay) doing research at the INSERM 153 at the hospital La Salpetriere, Paris and at Guy’s hospital in London. In 2004 she joined the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Antwerp, Belgium. As a scientist, Armelle was passionate about exploring the molecular details of brain functions and she now directs her energies towards investigating the deepness of human feelings through sculpture. Armelle Pindon is also creating sculptures based on scientific theme for biomedical research institutes and industries.

She won the Special Prize for Sculpture at the 12th national competition Saturarte 2007, Genova, Italy; The prize “Rassegna d’ Arte ” at the competition “Premio Italia per le arti visive” ECO d’Arte 2008, Montelupo Italy; The cup of the “Presidente della Provincia di Genova “ at the international art biennial  of  Genova, GENOVARTE 2009;The prize Universale 2009 Firenze, and received the Diploma of merit for her contribution to art and culture. Her work has been published in  art books and reviews.
